Energy today

  • There have been calls for the EU to raise targets for cutting emissions from the planned 20% to 30% by 2020 despite falling investment.

  • For Britain this would mean 15% of the total energy demand being supplied solar and other renewable energy sources by 2020.

  • Recent Figures suggest less than 10% of the companies sand public sector bodies covered by the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) have register. The legally binding deadline for registration is September and failure to comply will result in penalties.

  • The current Building Regulations L 2006 are an addendum to the original 2002 regulations. They came into force to bring UK in line with the European White Paper.
